Blisters from trail running

I'm relatively new to trail running. I did my first race(8 miles) about a month ago and I'm currently training for a half marathon. I've had trouble with blisters since I started trail running that I didn't experience running on roads. I have quality shoes that fit properly so I don't think that's the problem. I just bought this product to see if it helps. Anyone have experience using this?
