Are there any active gazelle rewrites going on?

Xanax and PTH are great and all, but the reality here is gazelle is an aging platform and extending it is only going to get harder as PHP ages even further. Are there any current open source efforts out there I can contribute to? The only major new tracker I know of is https://github.com/feross/bittorrent-tracker but it seems to have become stagnant.
