After Pixar's reputation has waned in recent years and Lightyear more or less failed, I can't help but wonder if Pixar will be taking a more "people pleasing", cautious approach with movies like Toy Story 5. It reminds of me of a small-scale version of what happened with Star Wars for The Last Jedi, going into The Rise of Skywalker. (The TS4 backlash is microscopic by comparison, but I digress.) I feel it could inspire a more adverse attitude towards newer ideas.
Do you think Pixar will sort of rescind things that happened in TS4 or do things to try to easily placate some fans? Like
- Woody getting his pull string/voice-box badge back
- Woody and Buzz no longer separated
- More screen time for the old characters
- Even going as far as bringing back Andy
