I currently am playing medieval 2, which runs fairly ok, and is fun. I can have large, 1v1 me vs AI battles ok, unless it's in a foggy forest. The Map runs smoothly and it's all good.
But with Rome total war, the original, the mao lags, battles lag, movements lag, and it doesn't even look that good. Maybe it's because I have a modern laptop, but still, it's horrendous.
And here are the relevant specs. It runs windows 8 (or 8.1)
CPU: 1.9GHz Intel Core i3-4030U (3MB cache) Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4400 RAM: 4GB DDR3L RAM Screen: 15.6-inch, 1366 x 768, Glossy Active Matrix TFT Color LCD Multi-touch screen Storage: 500GB (5400 rpm with a 16GB SSD cache) Ports: HDMI, 2 USB 2.0, 1 USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, VGA, SD card reader, combination mic/headphone jack Connectivity: 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.0
Now, the problem is, I do really, really like the look of the more modern total war games. Empire seems good (could somebody tell me if it's actually a good game or not? The scale seems good).
The really modern ones seem good, like Attila, but I just know that my computer would cry. I recently tried total war Arena, and, well, it didn't really work out. Which is a shame, as I have a ps4, not a gaming computer :'(
So. Even though I'm still not finished my first play through of medieval 2 (on easy, which I like as it's, well, easy. But It seems too easy, and medium difficulty is too hard, so I'm stuck on that as well) Are there any good mods which transform the game, and how do I install them?
There's stainless steel which I know about, and the lord of the rings one, but anything else? I know this wouldn't be possible, but would there be a mod which changes the medieval setting to guns and stuff? Like, essentially create empire total war, but for medieval?
Sorry for dragging it on, but back story is good so you understand my situation, and, well, I tend to drag on a bit anyway. But thanks in advance!
