I have two beautiful cats and both are very affectionate towards me (and eventually, If I have a partner, towards them). One is a tortie and one is a DSH tabby. Both are seniors, with my tabby being older.
My Tabby will actively come lay with me (even very inconveniently lol). And my tortie either basically lives in my bed (sleeping near my head) or if I’m sleeping on the couch, she will sleep on the other couch but want attention.
My tortie actively howls during the early morning for nothing other than to be held (aka her food and water are full, litterbox empty, no medical issues, etc. she stops howling if I hold her.)
Any time I approach her (or touch her in bed) she will meow like it’s a question. Like “meow?” and wants to be petted. If she’s on the main couch by the hallway, she will actually hit you (pretty hard!) (without claws) if you don’t pet her on the way by. She very much loves to be petted and held.
Just wondering if this is specifically a tortie thing or if she’s just special. Photo for tax. Her name is Mocha Jo.
Never stops talking to me! I love it.
