Department Managerial Job is super stressful and don't think it's worth it.
Post Body

So I was working under a department manager at large firm and he retired a while ago. So that position was vacant and they offered me the position since I was working so close with him basically a righthand man and I also worked pretty hard. Without any hesitation I said yes because,

  1. Pay is pretty good (180K/yr)
  2. I get to manage everybody in my department
  3. I wanted to challenge myself
  4. Get my own big office room where I get to enjoy some quiet time alone inbetween tasks if I want to(like right now lol..)

But here I am.. getting super stressed out because whatever problem happens in my department, it's all my responsibility now and I need to constantly see other managers and find solutions to problems and also I'm responsible for picking college interns(and we got over 3000 applicants for 4 positions open and I do'nt feel like going through interviews with dozens of students).

I feel exhausted even after work and I kinda regret taking this job. Especially because I'm pretty young(29 right now) and I feel like I should be enjoying life and traveling, rather than griding and working.
