System for passing interviews
Post Body

I'm confident when it comes to interviews and almost always manage to succeed in them. So here's what I do and what you can do to get the job to ensure you're successful. From a former salesman who convinced people to buy things lol

Follow the threes:

  1. Smile
  2. Eye Contact
  3. Enthusiasm

If you do these it's most of the work since it shows that you want the job, and that you actually enjoy what you do and would be passionate. Plus employers want long term employees who are genuinely happy to be there as they're easier to satisfy lol

Being Prepared:

Doing your research and taking notes can go a long way. Do as much research as you can. Main thing is to navigate the entirety of the website in and of itself, check the linked in accounts of the company ceo or manager if you can, as well as the interview questions for the role (e.g. Common sales representative questions)

Doing this puts you in this state of readiness and confidence where no matter what the employer asks, you don't stutter or stumble for words. This looks bad since it goes back to the threes (you're not enthusiastic!)

The threes are highly important!

Another system is the 8s, I have them down from memory from repetitive sales training haha

Positive Attitude Attitude Maintenance Be on time Be prepared (as mentioned above!) Work a full day (for door to door jobs) Work your territory correctly (same as above) Know your goal Take control

Particularly being prepared being in line with knowing your goal and taking control falls in perfectly.

Company will want to hire you more so when you show them enthusiastically with a smile! Why you relate to the job and how your personal goals fall in line with said job and experiences. So be confident!

Interviewers are often looking to see where you'll get stumped. When they ask a certain question and you're scrambling your thoughts to answer. Sales training has taught people like me, objection handling. Meaning we repeatedly analysed customer objections while making door to door sales to the point where we knew the perfect answer to anything they'd say!

Same can be applied to interviews, you know exactly what they'll say, and they aren't prepared for that.

I remember this very particular statement my old employer made as follows:

"They're ready to make an objection but they don't know that you're ready for them being ready to object to you"

You'll in return, stump them, and show them that "wow, this person is prepared!"

Another particular thing we're taught is INDIFFERENCE

Keeping a neutral tone and never surrendering control, which keeps us positive in handling 200 customers in a day.

Keep the same neutral, but enthusiastic tone. (Remember: Smile, Eye Contact, Enthusiasm). This makes you stay IN CONTROL. You're not too eager, but you're definitely interested in the position is what it shows. As well as confidence in yourself!

This instills another sales concept within the employer: SENSE OF URGENCY!

The employer can tell that you're a highly confident person who KNOWSS that they're providing value, and if they don't recruit you right this instant, they will miss out!

Sales is all about making people feel like they're gonna miss out unless they buy!!

Make yourself likable, really.

It doesn't matter what you're selling, everything's a sale.

You sold yourself to your partner to a degree as to why they should be with you lmao

It's all about confidence!!

I've stuttered so much at this particular sale I remember, I said a bunch of random bs and was positive about it, indifferent, and following the threes which led to a sale!

Always assume a yes! People transfer energies. If your positive energy is so strong and you're that enthusiastic about the value you're providing, they're GOING to agree. This is also where Positive Attitude and Attitude Maintenance come in. Which makes you never surrender control. You're gonna win! We know it! So let's do it.

So practice these! You will get that interview and you will ace it! Good luck ✊🏽
