Doesn't look like this has ever been brought up here before (after doing a quick search - but I could be wrong), but I think the TTC could do with considering 24-hour subway service on weekends only, or at least start running the subway at 6am on Sundays.

This morning I had to take a short walk to Greenwood/Danforth from my place (at Woodbine) to pick up the Zipcar I booked. I walk past the stop just west of Woodbine and a bus pulls up, absolutely jam-packed. This is at 7am, by the way. I notice that the bus can't fit any more people, but two people are trying to get on. One decides to say "Screw this" and gets off, opting to wait for the next one. I should also note that the bus refused to move before the person got off, just because of the "no standing in front of the yellow line" rule.

Sure, it's Sunday, but there are people in this city who don't have the luxury of sleeping in like many others; they have to work early for whatever reason. In a city where ridership is growing yearly, I think it stands to reason that there should be increased subway service on Sundays at the very least. This 9am start time for Subways is kind of a joke. I don't expect the TTC to institute 24-hour subway service, because they'd whine about cost (it wouldn't be cheap to do it, admittedly) but at least consider running the subway earlier on Sunday mornings. I'm actually seriously considering writing an email to city council/TTC about this.

Does anyone else share a similar sentiment? Or am I just sounding like an old man in a 30-year-old's body?
