Hello Toronto. The exceptional Canadian city I once escaped America to visit, gamble, and legally buy booze at a government run store at 19. My first feature film that I wrote and directed called 'Banshee Chapter' is having its North American premier this Thursday night at 9:30 at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto.
What's this movie about? It's a fun, crazy, and creepy little horror story starring Katia Winter (Sleepy Hollow) and Ted Levine (Silence of the Lambs) that follows a British online news journalist uncovering the terrifying truth behind the US government's chemical experiments on American citizens. Her search reveals a horrifying secret when she discovers that the government may have unleashed more than just chemistry in their unethical experiments. It's a tale of surveillance, counterculture, conspiracies and Lovecraft style horrors going bump in the night. I think of it as 'Nightmare on NSA Street.'
Still not convinced? Check out the trailer here on Apple. The film has only been shown to audiences once before, in London where the film won the 'Scariest Film' award at the 2013 FrightFest.
It would be awesome to have some redditors out at the showing and hit a bar after the show and Q&A. Hope some of you can make it out because I'm definitely going to need a drink after the movie. I'm flying in from San Francisco, don't make me drink alone. Let's do this Toronto!
