I want to be clear, from the start. I don't expect any of these to actually be implemented. They are simply ideas I have come up with as I go through the game, slowly working up my first Toon.
As some backstory, I've played since before they had Doodles, or the Speedway, on TTO, when I was a kid. I've followed TTR since it was announced, and when it came into open beta I jumped on it. I don't have tons of free time to play, but I still love every bit of this game.
Anywho, onto the changes, in no particular order.
Quality of Life Changes:
Laff displayed above a Toon's head, while on a Street/in a building/at an HQ
This isn't information that we already can't find, it just requires what feels like an arbitrary amount of clicking. I understand having the Laff Meter displayed can get very congested on the screen, if too many Toons are nearby, so I think that it should display the numerical values only, so as to minimize clutter.
Different business abbreviations for different Cog types
Really simple, here. Boss stays "Inc.", Sell becomes "Co.", Cash becomes "LLC", and Law becomes "& Cogs" (like a lawyer's office.) All of this will serve to allow for ease in identifying the type of a building from a distance.
Status effects in combat displayed via icons
This is to improve readability of all of the status effects that occur in Toontown, including Lure, Stun (for Drop's accuracy bonus), Cogs Miss, and Toons Hit.
Display duration of Invasion in-game
People already use third party sites to track this, and it would just clean up the desktop of those Toons, as well as give access to that information to Toons that may not know these sites exist.
Displayed numerical values for Doodle Trick Experience
This is just to help people plan out training plans for their Doodles better. If I know I need, say, 1000 experience to level up Jump, and I know I can get 300 experience in an hour, then I know I need to set aside about 3 and a half hours to train my Doodle. This is better than the current "I just keep doing it and hope it gets there eventually."
Minor Content Changes:
Laff-up in Buildings based on the Neighborhood
Just throw 1 of the standard Playground Laff-up's in the Building. The Cogs stole it, and now the Toons that are taking down the Building can use it to heal up. Now, where it sits is up in the air. On 1 floor? On all floors? On only Office floors? On only Boiler floors? First Toon in the Elevator? Last Toon? I just think this would improve buildings for solo Toons, and make it easier to play Toon-upless early in the game.
Knock-Knock Joke Doors grant a Laff-up, once per street per time period
This, as with the former idea, is to make it easier to play solo, and to play in the early game. As well, those jokes should do something, dang it. Nothing would cheer me up more than a good joke.
Random chance that a Cog in a Building is a Skelecog
To me, this is just something aesthetic, and doesn't really contribute to gameplay one way or another. I just think it would be fun, and make sense for the Cogs. They're going into the Buildings to get off the streets, take a break, and kick off their suit for a bit.
Minor Laff-up in HQ Yards
These could also be used in the buildings, as mentioned earlier. They could be themed for the Cog type featured, and may be more scarce than Laff-ups in playgrounds. Again, mostly just to smooth out solo play, and early play.
Major Content Changes
Cog-Type Invasion
Invasions of just a single Type of Cog would be very fun. Instead of Minglers flooding all the streets, Sellbots of all kinds flood the streets, causing pandemonium and chaos in their wake.
I'm sorry for the Great Wall of Text. I hope you can forgive me, and I can't wait to see you on the streets, in the fight against the Cogs!
