Forgot to snag a picture of it, but my order was a literal gallon freezer bag stuffed with small chunks of strawberry cake (no frosting). Super tasty and worth the cost, but not what I was expecting.
Cake trimmings are usually the top layer of cake that’s sawed off so the tops become flat. Depending on if the bakery does speciality cakes, trimmings can also be from the sides.
Easiest thing to do with them is add layer by layer to jars with piped frosting. So cake, frosting, repeat. If the cake is dry you can add a brushing of simple syrup between layers.
If you’re willing to put in the work, cake trimmings are also great for making cake pops :) just crumble the cake with your hands into a large bowl and add frosting. Mix well and then roll into balls. Can dip into melted chocolate or candy melts. If you don’t care what they look like you can omit the sticks and just put them on a sheet of parchment paper to solidify on.
Then this bag isn’t for you then🤷🏻♀️
Especially with this weather I personally wouldn’t be turning the oven on and making my home hot, so for $4 I think the bag is worth it.
Frosting is pretty cheap to make, or whipped cream. Plus then I wouldn’t have to do any dishes after baking and making a bit of a mess in the kitchen.

Mini cake towers the size of your palm go for over $6.
Sure, OP didn’t get frosting with their cake trimmings, but a gallon size ziplock bag worth of cake trimmings is def worth over $12, especially when they only paid $4 for it.
