I have just listened to Tom Waits for the first time. I saw him listed as one of the best songwriters of all time in some tier list so I thought I'd give it a go.
I found his most popular album on Spotify ( Rain Dogs) and listened to the first song-" Singapore"
To be blunt, It sounded like some evil chain-smoking Clown singing at some kind of satanic carnival.
I have never heard anything like it before
I honestly can't tell if it is serious or not or whether I love/ hate it
Is there anything of his that I should listen to before I continue with this album that is more entry level?
