Curious as to what language Finwë’s name is in.
Post Body
I’ve seen a few arguments about the meaning of the fin in Finwë’s name and that it means hair as per the appendix to the Silmarillion. However, if we go to Parma Eldalamberon 17, Tolkien states the meaning to be Man of Manual Skill.
So is Finwë a Quenya name, as would be used by those in Aman, or is it a Sindarin name as used by the Exiles after Thingol had banned the use of Quenya in Beleriand?
