So I did a bit of research to find out if Glorfindel from the LOTR, who saves Frodo and company from the Nazgul and who led the elven armies of Rivendell against the threat of Angmar earlier in the Third Age, is the same elf as one of the lieutenants of King Turgon of Gondolin in the First Age who fights and kills a Balrog in the escape from the Fall of Gondolin. It seems that in the end, Tolkien did intend these two characters to be one although it wasn't intentional when they were first created. This got me thinking though, that if they are the same character, Glorfindel is even more powerful than I originally thought and makes me wonder even more why PJ ignored him. Anyway I'd like to here what you guys think about this.
