Hey, I've been really curious about the Ent Wives and when Sam is speaking with the Miller's son in the beginning of the Fellowship, when they speak of "tree men" being spotted is it possible the Hobbits have seen the Ent Wives?
I found some old discussions on this forum that show Tolkien's letter on how he's not really sure what happened to them (which is sad but also it's how life is). What are your thoughts on this? Are the Ents separated from the Ent Wives because of their extinction at the hands of Sauron or are they separated more by their distance geographically and in understanding of one another?
