Recently moved (unwillingly) to the Bowling Green area... What's with the lack of meetups within like...a state?

I thought I'd go on meetup to see if I could find meetups to make friends. There's barely any in Toledo, zero in Bowing Green. A lot are out of state--one category is so empty the nearest one is Pittsburgh! What gives? Is there a site I don't know about?
EDIT: I also don't drive due to previous seizures and being on disability.
