My almost 2 yr old is losing it over EVERYTHING. If I dont do something mildly the right way she wants me to, she flips. I've paused everything to give her my full attention and provide entertainment but nothing I do seems good enough. I've just recently tried implementing Montessori methods and have been trying to talk with her about her big feelings, it seems to work with her sometimes but today it's gotten me no where. I just set up a little fort for her with stuffies and books and told her she needs to take a deep breath and play by herself for a little bit to calm down. She has been following me around crying and whining and I turned on soothing music and told her its 'quiet time' and that she needs to play by herself and that I'll check on her soon.
I've always been big on gentle parenting but my husband gets frustrated easily and resorts to yelling at her. I had know that she is probably partially stressed out about getting him upset. I've been really trying to do something about this behavior and I d9nt want to do unnecessary punishments when I think she really just needs to learn how to be more independent. Any advice in dealing with kids at this stage? Shes so used to me doing everything with her
