I’m still shaken up by what went on this morning. My 2.5 year old toddler woke up at 2am this morning and is basically refusing to go back to sleep. Will relax and cuddle into me, but a few minutes later get up to move around then lay down again. This has gone on for about an hour and a half. Now unfortunately I have to go to work and my wife has to take over. She had trouble putting him to bed last night so she was obviously sleep deprived. So when we switched my son was upset cause he didn’t want me to go, my wife starts screaming and cussing at him to go back to sleep. My son obviously looked terrified and I was shocked. When I called her out on it she just said she has had one hour of sleep so I can’t call her out. What do I do? I don’t think it’s mentally healthy for any parent to scream at their child. She has done this before, but I’ve been there and been able to take over. What do I say to her to make her stop screaming at him like he fully understands what he is doing.
