Which is true. Nothing is stopping people from doing everything in metric.
I neglected to think about that. I would agree such laws should be removed from the books.
I also like to shoot, spar, hike, and do archery. Archery and shooting are the ones that would be most likely to need to convert, but it still isn't necessary.
Provide a situation where that would come up.
6/32 would appear rather plainly on a measuring tape. I've cut ridiculous lengths of lumber when I was in the industry, but the wood industry is also the only big industry where metric hasn't been adopted yet.
How is that daily life? Also 5280. Not difficult.
How many feet are in a mile does not come up in day to day life.
Conversions are almost never used in everyday life. I haven't had to convert one measurement into another in day to day life in literally years. Why would I?

A 2x4 was originally a green board that measured 2x4.
Also, most people in the United States know how fast 55mph is. If you gave them a straight road and told them to drive 55 without looking at their speedometer they could probably do it within about 5 mph.
