Hey, Cheers to new beginnings! Fresh starts, new chapters, fresh pages, and forward motion. It took forever for my divorce to be finalized and as much as I looked forward to it and as relieved as I felt (my husband and I high fived so hard it echoed through the courthouse before we shared a huge hug of finality), it still felt a bit hollow and confusing and sad. Changes, good or bad, are always tricky. You navigated a whole freaking divorce procedure- you can basically navigate an ocean during a hurricane now. I always remind myself I never have shitty days. No day goes by where there isn't a tiny bit of something that makes me smile for a moment, or laugh, or feel calm... even 5 seconds of that means there was a break in the day and logically/scientifically you can't say the whole day sucked. EMOTIONALLY you totally can, but let's let logic bear the weight in situations like these shall we? 5 Mediocre seconds are better than 5 crappy seconds and I don't know about you, but on shit days, I'll take the 5 seconds of mediocrity over crap to break the monotonous nature of a crappy situation... if for no reason other than just thinking about how stupid and insignificant those 5 seconds felt and how annoying that redditor was who gave obnoxious sunny advice at the time as a distraction. Take it second by second if you can't go minute by minute, hour by hour, etc... you've got a 100% survival rate so far. Keep that ish up!
