Moving to the US from Canada on a TN Visa. What’s required of me to wrap up my things in Canada prior to the move?

Post Body

I recently got a job offer which I’ll be accepting to work in the US on a TN Visa. My join date is approximately a month from now, so I have a months time to wrap things up in Canada and make the move south of the border. I’ll be working in Detroit, MI, but will likely be reassigned to either Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX.

For reference, I live in Ontario.

So far I’ve thought of:

Liquidating and closing my RRSP (Is this required to be closed?)

Liquidating and closing my TFSA (Is this required to be closed?)

Freezing my OHIP through Service Ontario since I won’t living in Ontario moving forward. I have a green health card with an expiry date.

Cancelling my car insurance. (Keeping my licence active for a year).

Cancelling my Rogers mobile phone line (I’ll get a line with AT&T in the states)

Opening a cross-border US bank account with either RBC / TD.

Opening a cross-border credit card with either RBC / TD.

I’m sure I’m missing a few things to do before making the move.

For those of you who are knowledgeable / have made a similar move, what other things should I take care of prior to making the move?

Thanks in advance all!
