Hello, I am currently with Verizon and have a little over a year left on my contract. I am looking to take the advantage of T-Mobile paying for my ETF, which is $270. I read that I have to trade in my current phone (Galaxy S4) and also port my number over.
I checked online for the Simple Starter Plan which is $45 a month. I wanted to get the HTC One M8 and pay that in installments, which is around $22.40 a month. So I'm looking at around $67 a month based on the web site. Maybe a few bucks more with taxes. I am paying $61 a month now with Verizon, so getting an M8 at ~$7 more a month sounds pretty great to me
I went to a T-Mobile store around my area, the rep there told me that the $45 plan is with no financing on the phone, I would have to buy the M8 outright to get that plan. The cheapest I would get is the $50 plan, plus $10 in taxes. The M8 I would then pay about $25 a month, which brings my monthly bill to around $85 a month.
Should I call T-Mobile directly and ask about the price I see on the web site? Or is the rep correct that getting an expensive phone like the M8 will cost me $25 extra a month on my budget?
