So I had a free upgrade on the sync up drive and considering I got my old one in 2018 I figured the free upgrade to the newer module might be better.
Nope!
Now the older module uses sync up drive legacy which worked great as an app.
It even had my 2023 image for my car but the new app doesn’t have that and I cannot for the life of me, find how to edit it once you set it on the new app. You could edit it to any car on the legacy app, but nope, can’t change the year or model once set.
The old app had glove box and many other key things including a page for any published recalls on your car.
The new app? Doesn’t have it.
Also, both have Wi-Fi but what gives? T-Mobile brags about their 5G service and both only have 4G?
I’m really irked. The app WONT show when my trips start and considering I have a retro remote start ( key fob aimed at the car ) it sucks not knowing if the car turned on if I’m downstairs aiming up.
( my remote start can go pretty far distances even through heavy Walls, but the sync up app would text my phone “your car has just started a trip from X address”, giving me the peace of mind my car did indeed start. Now, it says it’s set to do that but it just doesn’t . Does tell me when the car turned off though but considering I’m in the car when that happens I don’t care.)
I’m going to call T-Mobile tomorrow. But this really bugs me.
It’s what I get for not listening to the phrase of “if it ain’t broke don’t upgrade it”.
