A few thought about this round.

The top spots look pretty alright to me. Normally I would be disappointed in the amount of Linnell Vs. Flans representation, but it makes sense here to me. Personally, I think this is one of Flans' weaker albums and one of Linnell's strongest, especially combined with the amazing B-sides and one-offs he was writing in this era. After making my own Superfueled Freaksickle, "Sensurround" finally clicked for me and I love that song. "Till My Head Falls Off" and "Spiraling Shape" are great tracks to take the top spots though. "Doctor Worm" might just be my favorite TMBG song, so I was glad to see it get some well-deserved love.

"The Bells Are Ringing" and "Metal Detector" are tracks that took a while to click for me, but I enjoy them thoroughly now. "I Can Hear You" was a huge surprise to me, it ended up coming 3rd in the actual album ranking, which I guess I don't have a complaint about, that's just a bit of a left turn. As much as I can moan and groan about personal favorites like "Pet Name" and "Your Own Worst Enemy" not making it higher, I'm in no real position to judge. As for the bottom rankings, I essentially agree. I've been outspoken with my dislike of "S-E-X-X-Y", so that song got its due diligence.

In conclusion, it's kind of a funny thing. A while ago, I posted that my TMBG hot take that this album is overrated. However, I essentially agree with everyone's scores on this discussion. While I have lightened up to this album, thanks in part to these discussions, I guess it's a case of how much the lower tracks and bring an album down and how much the higher tracks can bring it up.

But anyways, the discussion will be back next Monday, and we'll take a deep dive into the Internet and EMusic days. Next week, we'll be discussing the albums Long Tall Weekend and They Got Lost! See ya then, y'all!

I'm going to sit here and hold my breath until you get to 2004's The Spine and the single best song on that album, Thunderbird.
