Pothole Lights Question

In every depiction I've seen, Titanic is all lit up when she strikes the iceberg. Considering most people were getting ready to turn in or were already in bed I imagine (like most of us) they had turned their lights off in their cabins. So wouldn't it be more likely that just the lights on the superstructure were on just before the impact?
