I finished 138 a few days ago when that Korean scanlation dropped early and it kindve left a bad taste in my mouth tbh. Im hoping yams picks it up with 139, but I definitely haven't lost faith as it seems alot of you have. I have faith that he knows what he's doing. I just really needed some more aot though and I ended up torrenting the before the fall manga. after hearing all the hate, it really surprised me. I like it in the same way I like the mandalorian for the star wars universe. It's just a completely unrelated story set in the same universe that fleshes things out a ton. I like seeing how the scouts functioned before odm, I like seeing the iron bamboo. I think the one handed odm/broadsword combo is much cooler than the end result, though much more cumbersome looking. We got to see the industrial city after its little description in the cutaway slides from the show. I hear everyone dog on it because it's kindve written in that Shonen style, but I like kuklo as a protagonist. I like that he has alot of the same goals as eren but he's doing things in his own selfless way rather than being obsessed with vengeance. I think it's silly to dismiss it over being written like a Shonen when most of us only got into anime watching stuff like Naruto and DBZ. It's funny to watch people act like they're above it. Hell anime wouldn't even have made it to where it is without the Shonen style. I definitely enjoyed it over any of the other spinoff. And it has definitely managed to keep my attention better than most of the arc in season 2 of the show and the corresponding manga chapters. I think people hate on it a little too much. I also see the argument that it's never stated as being officially Canon. But there hasn't been anything thats directly contradicted it, yams oversaw the project and made sure it never contradicted his plans, and I think things like iceburst stones mightve even been fleshed out here before even the main show though I think they were name dropped in cutaway before anything. I think it's just another case of people not wanting it to be Canon more than anything.
