Post Body

I’m going to speak up about how I feel about Apex legends. I’m defending the game because no one else will. This will probably get #1 on controversial but I don’t care.

Tl;dr at the end.

I know some people do not like battle royale games. That’s fine; I’m not trying to convince those people to like battle royale. I’m trying to convince fans of titanfall that this game is not absolute garbage.

Apex legends is NOT a titanfall game. It is in the same universe, but not the same kind of game, obviously.

The main issue I see people complaining about is that there are no titans or wallrunning. I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical of this new titanfall-esk battle royale with barely any movement and no titans. But it makes sense.

Respawn already said that wallrunning made it hard for teams to stay together. In an incredibly team-based game, this is an issue and I think it was smart to remove it.

Titans would make the game unplayable. A good player who lands in a densely populated area and gets lucky could have a titan in a few minutes. This is broken. A titan could meander across the map, killing stragglers and removing entire teams. And if you’re in trouble, just eject and you’ll be fine. Because each game only has 60 players, the first to get a titan would likely win.

Another problem I see people complaining about is how Titanfall 3 will be so far away now, because concepts for titanfall 3 were used in Apex Legends, and how there is not a Titanfall 3 team currently.

I don’t see a problem. Just because some people are not a fan of the battle royale genre, doesn’t mean others aren’t. Titanfall 2 lost players to Fortnite and others, so a battle royale a titanfall should bring more attention to Respawn, which we can agree, makes the most underrated games of all time.

Last but not least, EA bought Respawn. This would be fine, except it’s EA. But this game isn’t a Star Wars battlefront. The only microtransactions are cosmetic, and so are loot boxes.

Tl;dr: Just because the game isn’t what you like, doesn’t mean others don’t. And who knows, the roadmap might not reveal everything they have in store for this game.

I’ll try to respond to all comments.
