This video on CDs reminded me of a clip I saw as part of a retrospective clip show on TV in the UK.
This clip was presumably from when CDs first came out. The presenter scratches up his discs and gets his kids to draw on them with marker pen, but he's super confident that they'll still work perfectly.
Cut to him putting the disc in the CD player, and either the sound is bad or there's no sound at all.
