i posted this on here a while ago but it's still driving us crazy haha! my mom and i are trying to remember a novel that she read a few years ago. we can't remember the overall plot, so this is going to be very specific and more of a "if you know, you know" sort of search. so she only remembers bits and pieces (possibly multiple plot lines happening throughout the book?) but from what she can remember, it's realistic fiction and takes place somewhere in the uk. the main woman is in her 20s and she works for a photography/art studio (she might be living in an apartment at the art studio?) and the man who owns it is older and married but flirts with her. she has a boyfriend that also works at the studio, there's a scene with her and her boyfriend on a train. there's also a scene where she's with the older man and his wife and they go to some castle/cliff. another random scene; she buys herself a new coat and scarf at some point. at another point (it may be christmas time?), theyre at an event at the studio and the main woman feels underdressed in comparison to the older man's wife. aaaand that's all we can remember...sorry it's so specific. unfortunately we cant remember the main plot of the story, only random scenes. does this ring a bell with anyone?? it's been driving us mad for at least three or four years!
again, apologies for the somehow under-detailed yet also incredibly over-detailed explanation haha. hoping someone here has read it and sees this!!
that's not it but sounds VERY similar. that's not based on a book, is it? i tried looking if it was but nothing came up. but we've definitely not seen the movie, though the summary sounds like this book!
