my mom and i just ate a cookie and it reminded her so vividly of a cookie she ate as a kid (in the 70s or 80s). they were palm-sized sugar cookies that were thin and hard with sugar crystals on top. they were shaped like flowers with a hole in the middle and they werent frosted, but they were embossed with designs. she thinks they came in plastic packaging that was pink but had a spot with clear plastic where you could see the cookies through the package. it was in the boston area if that's important, but i dont think it was a new england local thing. does this ring a bell for anyone? we cant seem to find it anywhere! :(
YES!!! YES YES!! solved! thank you so much! the name is so generic that i couldnt find the actual product, just other cookies with 'sugar rings' as keywords haha. you have no idea how happy this made my mom!
not butter rings, no. they were 99.999% sugar cookies.
also not them, sadly. we've searched online high and low and cant find it anywhere. i fear i'll have to just get lucky and have someone see this that remembers exactly what we're talking about, yknow? but we're loosing hope haha
that's what keeps popping up and it looks similar, but the name isn't familiar and it's not totally accurate :( thank you though!
i'll try to answer anymore questions:)
