I am not totally sure about the 2010s, but IIRC it felt very modern.
The plot part is somehow about someone either lying about engaging in ice fishing to cover up some other activity or being punished to do it because of something they've done before.
I remember that at least one person gets driven to an icy lake and forced to fish. The people forcing the person(s) have weapons and one more "bossy" character sets a time window when he's about to come back and leaves. Their task is to fish somehow as many fish as they can.
