When I was a teen, I read a book that I literally canāt find anywhere anymore. We even got free copies of the book. The plot is basically: there is a company that forced all of their workers to put their future children into an experiment to evolve humans. The reason being that the world is quickly running out of food, so the idea was experiment on the kids to make their bodies be able to photosynthesize. There is a young guy with his brother (friend?) that finds one of these kids out and about and they basically have to return her???? Sheās completely weird because of the no human interaction and all. At some point one of the kids dislocates their shoulder. I couldāve sworn the name of the book was āThe Gardenerā but I canāt find it anywhere. If it helps, I live in Portland Oregon. (I think they told us the author was a local)
