When I was a kid there was this really old poetry book at home, and a few lines from one of the poems in it keeps popping into my head, but I can't find the full thing anywhere and it's driving me mad. I think the poem was called Tom At Supper and the gist of it is a kid who's allowed to eat dinner with the grown-ups, but they ignore him and forget to give him any food. He asks someone to pass the salt and they they realise they haven't given him anything to eat.
The few lines I can remember are something like "Some salt? Yes, said Tom, when you pass me some meat". Can't find anything like it on google and there's no trace of the book at my parents' house so if there are any old poetry experts out there help me out please!
Solved! Thanks to Smooshie, it's from Tom Tiddler's Ground
