Hello!

I created this account JUST to ask this question. I’ve talked to so many of my friends about it, scoured all Google search possibilities, etc. however I cannot find the exact short I remember from my childhood.

The short in question was a claymation film aired one specific Halloween in the late 90s on Nickelodeon’s later block in North America. A girl in what I remember to be a witch’s costume is trick or treating and knocks on someone’s door. They offer her black licorice as a treat and she gets angry at the idea. She sprouts antler-like horns and transforms into a horrifying monster. I think she might have even tried ripping off the antlers in a temper tantrum. I was very young when I saw it and it left an impact that assists in my memory of all details provided.

The CLOSEST thing I’ve ever seen to this short is an old point and click game on Nickelodeon.com called Black Licorice, where creepy hyper realistic children appear at your door to trick or treat and, if offered the titular black licorice, also get super angry and grow horns, though nothing like the antlers in the short I saw. I find it odd that both were developed by Nick and have practically the same premise, however the claymation short is seemingly lost to the ages.

This is not a Mandela Effect situation as my memory of this short precedes the Black Licorice flash game, and I only found this game Googling the short I remembered.

Any help is welcome, as there’s seemingly nothing about this online that I can find and I want to revisit it after all these years to see exactly what it was I was afraid of!

Thanks for reading!
