Hi guys! I'm looking for a jazzy-sounding pop song from the past few years. I heard it at a party last weekend and a small chunk of it got stuck in my head.
From my best recollection, the song is a typical pop song for the most part until it hits the chorus, where the instrumentation fades and it's just a bass playing and the vocalist singing, before everything else comes back in. The chorus' chord progression has a couple 2-5-1's in it.
EDIT: the vocalist is female, if that narrows it down. Also the song doesn't get really poppy-sounding until after the chorus; the opening of the song doesn't feel like it's a pop song. Here's a short sequence of the chorus.
