Post Body

This happened quite some time ago, at least 5 years back. Someone was out hiking and found a memory card/stick from a camera. They uploaded the pictures online and asked Reddit to help them find the owner.

There was considerable work from the community that went into figuring out all sorts of information from the pictures, such as identifying what bar one of them was taken at from an engraving on a plaque on a back wall. The owner was eventually discovered, contacted, and criticized the person who found the card for putting their pictures online to begin with.

I've tried to use Reddit's sub-par search functionality as well as Google to find this old thread for a long time. Can anyone help?
