It's a card game I played while in the middle east (in Iraqi Kurdistan). It uses to decks, evenly mixed.
The card progression goes A 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Jack Queen King A. An ace counts as a one when used as a one.
The dealer shuffles, and lets the person to their left cut the deck. If it's a joker, the person takes it for themselves. The dealer then deals, giving everyone 14 cards, and themselves 15. They observe their hand, and discard one card. It moves on to the next person, who draws a card, and throws one. It continues like that.
You can group cards in a minimum of 3. You can group them by number (so, having 3 or 4 jacks, eights, etc.), or by the same suit in order (jack/queen/king, 4/5/6/7/8, etc.). Each grouping allots you a certain amount of points - a 2, two points; a 5, five points; etc. An ace depends on where it's used. All face cards are 10. Jokers are wild.
You keep your pairs in your hand and a secret, until the total is 51 points. At which point, you "come down", and reveal and place down all your pairs.
Once down, you can draw the last discarded card instead of drawing, place groups on any of your turns, and add to your and other's placed groups (if there's a 6/7/8, and you have a 5 or 9, you can add to it, for example). The goal is to rid your hand of all cards. Once someone does this, they're considered to have zero points, and that round ends. Everyone else counts up the total points in their hands, and that's how many points they earn.
You play for a certain amount of predetermined rounds, and at the end, the winner is the person with the least amount of points.
