I don't remember much, but I do remember a few random scenes from different novels. They mainly follow one young woman, and her close group of friends. I'm pretty sure that by the last book they were in 8th grade. They had one of those classes that pairs couples up and have them solve fake relationship problems and I remember one "couple" went to buy a car, only they had to come up with some bullshit excuse for riding in the back and letting the salesman drive the car.

There was a scene in one where the boyfriend confessed that the worst trick he pulled was putting limes on top on her shirt when she was napping outside by the pool, and she was furious because when she got home and saw the stains on her shirt she thought she was lactating.

There was also a scene where the boyfriend refused to kiss her, until she initiated a kiss which she found very frustrating because he was so tall.

One of the guys played drums, IIRC. And during one of the later books when they were older, one of the girls was attacked on a train. And after that she cut her hair?

I was pretty young when I read the books, so I'm pretty sure that they date back to at least the mid 1990s.
