I saw this short story on my CEGEP English placement exam (CEGEP is a type of college in Quebec), it was about an Iranian woman named Susan who was taking English courses. She completely couldn't speak English and the whole struggle was she had so much to say but just couldn't say it and couldn't understand everyone else in the class. It also touched upon her family and how there was a revolution back in Iran that separated them and forced her to immigrate.
Thank you so so much if you find it, and sorry if my post doesn't make sense, I've had a couple drinks before remembering this short story LMAO.
