A movie was rented from a movie rental store around 2010 or so. The plot involved a guy and gal being interested in each other, where both people weren't sure of the other's feelings. (Adults, not teenagers.) One of the pair wrote a note telling their feelings, and gave it to a someone to pass on to their love interest. That person intentionally withheld the note. This was a mainstream type movie, and I searched for it extensively in the past. I wasn't able to watch the whole thing at the time, so I don't know what happened.

Thanks. I looked at the Wikipedia and IMDB pages. No, the movie I'm talking about was 100% American - actors and culture.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the help. I watched the preview. That's not it. I don't specifically recall the actors, but I can easily recognize when it's not them. In the movie I'm thinking of, the couple who are mutually interested is the most significant plot element.
