Once saw a movie where a student/scientist who attends collage discovers I think singals from space that leads to coordinates on earth and he/she goes there at the end of the movie. Other thing I can remember is he/she cracks that signal with his professor. I know its a far shot but I will try.
In the movie Interstellar (2014), a young girl and her dad discover coordinates are being transmitted via gravity. This leads them to a secret NASA base, early in the movie. Unknown aliens are helping humans leave a dying Earth. The dad is an ex-NASA astronaut, from when NASA still officially existed, and there's a professor among the small group of NASA people at the base.

I figured it wasn't. What time frame did the movie come out?
