In the early to mid 2000s I ran across a comic book in a comic book shop that I enjoyed but hardly remember anything about. This was in the United States.
I believe it was a French comic, but I could be misremembering that. Could be any other Euro country, or even American. I found it in a hardbacked trade paperback sized format. It seemed to have multiple hardback story arcs, but they were pretty thin. It was not a manga.
It was a fantasy story, with I believe a trio of heroes. Even though this comic was not in the manga style at all, I believe the theme was more samurai than Euro fantasy. I believe the main hero used a katana, or perhaps one of those long bladed spears.
The most notable thing I remember about what I believe was the first story arc was that the bad guy resided on what I think was a Japanese-style castle that was on a floating piece of land. It was anchored with chains. The heroes are invited into this castle, and I believe wind up having to fight and kill monsters and bad guys.
I know this isn't a lot to go on. I remember looking for regular trade paperback softcovers to get them cheaper, but I couldn't find any. Just these thin hardbacks.
I'd love to revisit these, see if they are any good. I never read any of them past the first one, but remember liking it pretty well.
