It isn’t the obvious Rear Window or Disturbia. I remember there are two guys in a garage of a house in daytime. It is in those American suburbs with one storey houses. One is in an armchair. I remember one of them passes the other a beer can. The guy in the armchair is looking through binoculars, through the blinds into the neighbour’s window, the house being across the street.
That night, there is a break-in into the voyeur’s house and I think the guy gets murdered or there is at the very least a scuffle, I vaguely remember as being mildly gruesome. There maybe nails and hammer involved, but I can’t remember entirely. The colour grade for this night time scene I remember as being very blue, with minimal or no practical lighting aside from moonlight from outside. The murder happens on a sofa, with a window behind it illuminating the scene with moonlight.
It is probably a thriller or maybe horror. I saw this movie on HBO a few years ago.
