Y'all helped me before, so I figured I'd ask for help again.

There was this TV show I saw late at night (any time from around 12 am to maybe 3 am) several years back. I don't remember what channel it was on, though I'm pretty sure it was one of those "drama comedy" shows. I don't remember the whole episode, but there was apart that took place at night in a club or restaurant. It was for some blonde chick's birthday. People were arguing with this blonde singer guy who was her boyfriend but I don't remember what. I vaguely remember them giving the guy crap for wanting to propose to his girlfriend though. He eventually got on stage and started playing the piano and was singing "I wanna take you for a riiiiiiiiiiide, woaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" over and over and the girl looked happy and like she was about to cry and she was grooving to the song and then after I think he was about to propose but them something happened. Either that or I fell asleep. I don't remember. It's been years since I last saw it but I'm curious to see what the story was. Does anyone recognize this? Sorry I don't have any more info. The only other thing I remember is that purple was a relatively prominent color during the whole sequence.
