[META] Reddit's Blacklist: aka how not to get stuck in the Spam Filter

Post Body

There's been a lot of misinformation floating around recently, and it seems like a number of sites have been added to the blacklist, so I've made this thread to clarify the system and do what we can to counteract it. AFAICT there is a (not publicly available) set of websites that is shadowbanned by Reddit. Any comment containing links to them will be spam-filtered, and no mod can get them out. I personally have no problem with them, and they aren't against subreddit rules. So workarounds like pornsite(dot)com are completely fine. Obviously any illegal content on these sites should be reported and will be removed, but I haven't seen any reason to impose blanket bans like this.

Just FYI: all link shorteners that I've ever encountered have been blacklisted as well. Don't bother trying. Replacing a dot with (dot) is probably your best bet. Systems like PS/7A36K6F are less than ideal because new users often aren't familiar with the common sites or their URL schemes, especially when we aren't even saying their names.

On to the business of this thread: I plan to keep an updated list of all the sites I believe to be blacklisted in this post, stickied at the top of the subreddit. If you want to know whether a site is blocked, post a link in the comments and we'll find out. This way the text post contains sites I know to be blacklisted, and the comments contain sites I know aren't blacklisted, since they got out of the spam filter.

The Blacklist:

allthick(dot)com

anon-ib(dot)su

dailyfreeporn(dot)tv

donfreeporn(dot)com

hqporner(dot)com

imgspice(dot)com

javlibrary(dot)com

justporno(dot)tv

lovehomeporn(dot)com

lfporn(dot)com

luscious(dot)net

motherless(dot)com

mrstiff(dot)com

nudevista(dot)com

openload(dot)co

planetsuzy(dot)org

pornhdhdporn(dot)com

pornve(dot)com

tobeporn(dot)com

tube6(dot)org

worldofap(dot)com

Full disclosure: all the mechanisms of the global blacklist are completely secret, I have no knowledge of how this actually works. Occasionally one arbitrary link from a non-blacklisted site gets blacklisted. Occasionally one random link from a blacklisted site gets through. I have no idea why. A thread like this is never going to solve everything, but I'm hoping it's a step in the right direction.
