Platform(s): Windows PC, it was a free game available on a website with no download or software required

Genre: point and click rpg, 2D

Estimated year of release: early 2000s, likely between 2000-2007

Graphics/art style: 2D graphics I think, very similar to some of the free online rpgs you see pop up in ads

Notable characters: The character you play was sort of an alt-girl and her foil was your stereotypical basic Becky type of girl. There was also a guy who could serve as a love interest and I believe he either owned or worked at a record store. I can't remember their names.

Notable gameplay mechanics: A lottttt of dialogue in which your character had to make choices that would effect the outcome of the interaction. There were multiple stores and houses you could visit, but I'm not sure you could walk around with the arrow keys. I'm fairly certain you had to point and click.

Other details: I remember playing this game for free on my family PC when I was somewhere between 10-13 years old. It was definitely geared toward teenage girls. You play as an alt-girl (very Not Like Other Girls type of deal lol) who is trying to make friends in her town. I think she had just moved there. The two characters I remember interacting with often were her foil (your typical perky, snobby sorority girl stereotype) and some guy that you could opt to romance (I remember him being kind of a sleaze). The setting of the game was a town with different buildings and houses of characters you could visit. The two places I remember most clearly are a coffee shop and a record/music store/music venue where the potential love interest worked. The game was very dialogue heavy and everything was point and click iirc. The way you interacted with people directly effected how they treated you and whether you got what you wanted from them. I want to say there was a points system of some kind that dictated your relationship with each person based on how you interacted with them.
