So... I’ve been trying to find this for a few years, but I couldn’t find it when I googled. Its a game I played in school, and I think it was during English? I don’t remember it as being inherently an English learning game, but I do remember it as a suspense/mystery game. There was this boy that disappeared, I think his name was Carl? And you went around talking to people that knew him to solve it. I remember one of them being a rather rude lady, I think it might have been his stepmom/mom?

At the end of the game, you input a password that you learned earlier in the game, and it gave you a URL to read what happened to Carl or whatever his name was.

Also it’s no older than 2009, because I played t in a school I graduated from in 2009.

I thought the game title was The Secret, but I couldn’t find it on google... so it might be something close to that.

I am also very certain it was set in England. It's not "watching footage" like "Missing". I don't remember if it was with live action actors, but my guess would be no. Not sure about that one though.
