Old RPG/RTS style game, Gamespy demo

Genre: RPG or RTS, not sure
Estimated year of release: 2000's
Graphics/art style: Realistic, bleak color scheme.
Notable characters: Can't remember, but they had voice acting.
Notable gameplay mechanics: It was a top down RPG or RTS type game
Other details: The game was a demo on Gamespy back then and the demo level was a no mans land type landscape where you controlled someone and gathered others while fighting enemies. I don't remember much but I do remember a lot of RPG elements.
