I saw this case one time many years ago and I remember thinking, even then, that the case would be solved one day. It was on a forensic files/ cold case files type of show in the late 90s or early 00s. The details are fuzzy and possibly slightly incorrect (and I hope I’m not conflating multiple cases) but as I recall it: a woman was at home with her child and disappeared. I want to say there was cigarette butts near the front door. The child was totally unharmed. I can’t remember if they find the mothers body or just articles of clothing or other traces of her in some woods and there are a lot of beer cans around with dna that doesn’t lead to anything. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?
