Wife murders abusive husband

Ok this is driving me nuts. I remember hearing about a woman who killed her husband and butchered his body on the kitchen table. The same table the police sat at when they came to question her. I’m pretty sure she didn’t end up serving any time and went on to become an advocate for abuse survivors but I’m not sure. I also think she scattered his body parts around the area and a dog found one and that’s how she got caught.
